Bert van Asselt is a chemical (process) engineer BCs. After his study he started his career as a consultant at an international consulting and engineering company. Working since 1998 at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and since then hold several posts regarding bio-energy, biomass and biobased economy.

He is and has been active on national and international platforms for many years. His expertise lies in bringing the different parties together in reaching a joint agreement by focusing on the process rather than the content. Because of his technical background he is able to understand technical issues as well which can be helpful to focus technical discussions
