Dr. Lewis is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Lewis' lab has helped lead efforts to sequence the CHO and Chinese hamster genome and continue to develop systems biology and genome editing techniques to map out and engineer the cell pathways controlling mammalian cell growth, metabolism, protein synthesis, and protein glycosylation, in an effort to develop improved protein expression hosts.
