Amber Petersen, Ph.D. is an accomplished scientist and leader with a focus on advancing the fast and robust development of high quality biotherapeutics. As an R&D Manager at MilliporeSigma, a business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, Dr. Petersen leads a team dedicated to product and capabilities development, gene integration technologies, and cell line engineering. This work involves close engagement with customers to address critical industry challenges and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement strategic solutions. With nearly a decade of experience in upstream bioprocessing, Dr. Petersen's tenure at MilliporeSigma includes significant contributions to customer technical support, co-development of an upstream bioprocessing course, and leadership of R&D programs in various areas including transient expression and continuous processes. Prior to joining MilliporeSigma, Dr. Petersen earned a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Neurobiology & Anatomy from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she led research on the role of disease-related proteins in synaptic plasticity. Dr. Petersen holds a B.A. in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Carthage College.
