Darren Begley, PhDPrincipal Scientist - Analytical Development at ResilienceSpeaker
Profile
Darren Begley is a Principal Scientist within the Resilience Process and Analytical Development (PAD) team. Darren and his team provide process development support and quality control test methods for gene therapy delivery vehicles, with a focus on adeno-associated virus (AAV) particles. Over the past eight years, Darren has been investigating and characterizing a variety of biologic macromolecular species for therapeutic applications. At Resilience, Beam Therapeutics, and Ultragenyx, Darren has investigated AAV, LVV, virus-like particles (VLPs) with oligo cargo, mRNA, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), and other macromolecular species. Darren received a Bachelor’s Degree from McGill University (Joint Honours, Chemistry and English Literature), and a PhD from the University of Washington in Seattle, focusing on structural biology methods including protein X-ray crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance to study protein-small molecule interactions.
