Dr. Erica Dawson is Chief R&D Officer at InDevR, a Boulder, CO-based life science tools company founded in 2003 where she leads the R&D, Engineering, and Field Application Science teams. In this role that straddles product development and commercial activities, she guides the development and expansion of InDevR’s VaxArray technology portfolio and related IP as well as oversees the team of scientists providing customer support. With InDevR since 2006, Dr. Dawson has acted as program manager or PI on most of InDevR’s historical ~$45M in non-dilutive grants and contracts, including current or past funding from NIH/NIAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and NIIMBL. In addition, she led a $15M BARDA contract for the development of an influenza molecular diagnostic with clinical and pandemic preparedness applications which resulted in successful 510(k) clearance in April 2019. Dr. Dawson earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Hartwick College (summa cum laude), her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and completed postdoctoral training in microarray-based molecular diagnostics at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
