Imara Charles is a bold, visionary executive and thought leader with 20+ years of experience building and scaling pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies—overcoming today’s challenges to achieve tomorrow’s goals.
For more than a decade, Imara has established a distinguished career with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS). Currently VP of Process & Digital Excellence, she is overhauling the global supply function by introducing the latest digital technologies for automation and efficiency. In prior leadership roles with BMS, she created a global supplier partnership model, pioneered enterprise-level alliances across key partnerships, optimized manufacturing network strategies, and headed product strategy for BMS’ first-ever combination drugs.
Imara is on the board of directors for Keep Youth Dreams Alive (KYDA), and Mercer Community College Foundation. She is a member of Chief, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), and Women of Color in Pharma (WOCIP). Her credentials include PhD and MS degrees from Seton Hall University (Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry), and a BS in Biophysics from the University of Scranton. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
