Jim Xu has worked as Global Head of Cell Culture Platform with focus on early cycle 1 projects and cell culture media platform and bioprocess technology development in both US and European sites at Sanofi for 2 years. Prior to Sanofi, he had worked on cell culture and fermentation development for many early and late phase projects as Scientific Director at BMS for 17 years. Jim’s early career includes vaccine process development as Principal Scientist at Emergent from 2004-2006 and natural product fermentation development as Engineer at Nereus Pharmaceutics from 2003-2004. He holds a PhD in Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University in Belgium.
