Johnson Varghese has over 30 years of experience in large molecule drug development. Prior to joining Beam Therapeutics in 2022 as head of Analytical Research & Development, Johnson held positions of increasing responsibility at BMS, Celgene, Shire, MedImmune, Amgen, and Abbott laboratories. His technical expertise is primarily in physicochemical methods development, assay qualification, and product characterization. Johnson has led various analytical organizations focusing on either early and/or late-stage development in support of numerous IND/BLA filings. He holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from King’s College London and undergraduate degrees in chemical sciences from universities of East Anglia and Glasgow in the U.K."
