Kate Zhao is currently a scientist in the upstream process development department at Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease. She has been leading and working on late-stage development projects such as harvest optimization and process characterization, and early-stage development projects such as clone selection, process verification, and generational stability testing since joining in 2023. Prior to Alexion, she obtained a PhD degree in Chemistry, where she studied the protein-ligand interactions of Staphylococcus aureus.
