Matthew RadleScientist, Analytical Sciences at AstraZenecaSpeaker
Profile
In 2015, graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology. After graduate school, worked for five years in the Chemistry Department at Penn State as a research assistant/lab manager studying mechanistic enzymology of metalloenzymes. During that time, my work contributed to 3 publications including a first-author publication summarizing the discovery of a novel sub-class of vitamin B12-dependent radical SAM enzymes. At Penn State, I characterized small molecule reaction intermediates and products and using a combination of QQQ mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography techniques. In 2020, I started at AstraZeneca focusing on the development and implementation of process analytical technologies related to mass spectrometry. We are currently using several recently developed mass spectrometry-based tools to characterize in-process material either at-line or on-line.
