Dr. Chakraborty is a leading expert in biopreservation and strategic biological product development for bioproduction. With engineering degrees from the University of North Carolina and Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, he has held research roles at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Shriners Burns Hospital, where he advanced cell-based technologies and delivery formats.
Previously a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Michigan, Dr. Chakraborty now leads ATCC’s preservation sciences and development of high-performance biological products based on ATCC’s authenticated biological materials. His work streamlines bioproduction through innovations in cryopreservation of microbial strains and cell lines.
