Profile
Sarah W. Harcum completed her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Maryland characterizing proteases in recombinant Escherichia coli. She then worked at the US FDA in the Division of Monoclonal Antibodies. She took her first academic position at New Mexico State University in both Chemical Engineering and Molecular Biology. She is currently at Clemson University, professor of Bioengineering and a faculty member in Chemical Engineering. Her research focuses on bioreactor optimization where she uses transcriptomics and metabolomics to assess cell health and genome instability of both E. coli and Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells
