Dr. Daniel Zandonadi is a full professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and serves as the senior plant physiologist at Huma Inc.'s laboratory. His research focuses on the mode of action of humic substances and includes large-scale field studies on farms, along with collaborative experiments with small family farmers using protected cultivation systems.
Dr. Zandonadi specializes in plant bioenergetics, with an emphasis on nutrient uptake and photosynthesis, particularly in response to biostimulants such as humic substances and nanomaterials. He developed an innovative method for cultivating mangroves with humic substances and has actively supported disadvantaged communities in establishing urban agriculture initiatives in Rio, Brazil.
