Profile

Fabricio Cassán is a Microbiologist and holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina [UNRC]. He is an Associate Professor of Plant Physiology and an Independent Researcher at the Institute of Agrobiotechnology [INIAB] of CONICET. Professor Cassán has nearly 30 years of experience in the study of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria and their impact on Agriculture. He has produced over 100 scientific contributions (i.e. papers, books, chapters, conferences) in the field and has led numerous research projects, both in Argentina and in collaboration with researchers from Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, the UK, Canada, the USA, and Belgium, where he completed part of his postdoctoral specialization. He has served as the coordinator of the National Inoculants Quality Control Network [REDCAI], as a member of the Advisory Committee on Bioinputs of the Ministry of Agriculture and of the Ibero-American Biofertilizer Network [BIOFAG]. He has also participated as an advisor to the IAEA for the Ministries of Agriculture of Chile and Costa Rica. He is an Honorary Member of the Argentine Chamber of Bioinputs [CABIO]. Currently, he leads a research group at UNRC where he works on the development of biological alternatives for Agriculture.
