Xunzhong ZhangAssociate Professor at Virginia TechSpeaker
Profile
Dr. Xunzhong Zhang leads the plant stress physiology and biostimulant research program as an associate professor in research and senior plant physiologist at Virginia Tech. He initiated research on drought physiology of biostimulants associated with antioxidant metabolism in turfgrass in the early 1990s and has been working in the biostimulant area for 32 years. Current research at Zhang’s lab is focused on physiological and molecular mechanisms of plant stress tolerance, characterization and evaluation of biostimulants, investigation of their modes of action, and optimization of biostimulant applications for sustainable crop production and turfgrass management. Dr. Zhang has published over 170 research articles, 2 books, and 9 book chapters, and is an active member of several professional societies.
