Mark is a chemist who moved from the bench into commercial roles and has a 20+ year career spanning performance chemicals, fine chemicals and pharmaceutical industries. He spent 11yrs at AstraZeneca in increasingly senior positions within Operations, R&D and Alliance Management. This breadth of experience has furnished him with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges of delivering new drugs to market and how effective partnering and strategic sourcing can accelerate this. Prior to leaving AZ in 2014, he was a culture change ambassador, providing direct support to local project teams and functions to help them embed the changes required to change the Global R&D culture to one of collaboration and innovation.

Upon leaving AstraZeneca he set up Orca Partnership and over the last 10yrs has worked with clients across multiple sectors and industries. Scopes of work include helping clients; develop their leaders, develop their teams into high performing teams, build their alliance & partnering capability, increase the value they derive from their external spend and develop their procurement staff. When not consulting or freelancing, Mark is a qualified and experienced Board member, holding Non-Executive Director and Charity Trustee roles.
