Blanca is a Senior Manager in Cell Line Development (CLD) and acts as a Technical Lead between Abzena Cambridge and San Diego, taking CLD into Process Development and Manufacturing.

Blanca joined Abzena, formerly Antitope in 2012 as a Research Manager. She took on the role of Senior Manager in CLD in 2017. Prior to joining Abzena, Blanca worked in Biotech as a Development Scientist at Lab21 Ltd for five years and prior to that as a Research Associate at Inion Ltd for one year.

Blanca has significant experience in mammalian cell culture and CLD of monoclonal antibodies and other innovative molecules. She has ample experience as a project manager, as well as technical author and reviewer of customer project reports, data analysis and project updates with the customer. Blanca can successfully lead teams of Scientists in CLD projects to achieve project completion within timelines and client expectations. Blanca’s leadership ensures the seamless delivery of projects to stakeholders, consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.

In addition to this, her expertise covers ambr15 and 2L bioreactors, upstream process development and technology transfer into manufacturing, molecular biology and protein purification.
