Gerald StriednerHead of Institute of Bioprocess Science and Engineering at University of Natural Resources and Life SciencesSpeaker
Profile
Gerald Striedner is Professor of Bioprocess Engineering at BOKU and heads the Institute of Bioprocess Science and Technology and the Health Area at the Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB). His research focuses on microbial fermentation and cell culture processes, the implementation of PAT/QbD approaches and process modeling. His research group has developed an integrated systems approach to bioprocess development and focuses on the implementation of PAT and QbD concepts in bioprocess development and rational host cell design. CHO, E. coli, insect cells and Vero cell lines are used as expression systems for the production of a representative range of biopharmaceuticals (mABs, Fabs, scFvs, VLPs, viruses, DNA.
