Julia MüllerPhD Student at University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern SwitzerlandSpeaker
Profile
Julia Müller is a PhD student in the Bioprocess Technology group at the University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). She earned her Master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Bern in 2015. Following her Master’s, Julia gained valuable experience in the pharmaceutical industry, where she focused on the development and optimization of microbial and mammalian downstream processes (DSP).
In February 2023, Julia started her PhD project at FHNW in collaboration with YMC ChromaCon. Her research focuses on continuous purification strategies for plasmids and adeno-associated viruses (AAVs), both critical components in the advancing field of gene therapy. Julia’s work aims to enhance the efficiency and scalability of these purification processes, demonstrating promising techniques for optimizing the production of critical components in gene therapy.
