Lenny Zaffaroni since 2019 works as Senior Scientist at Bavarian Nordic in Bern,specializing in upstream bioprocessing in GMP settings. In 2010 he began his career at the University of Birmingham (UK), where he worked on improving recombinant GFP-fused protein production in bacteria. Lenny then joined UCB in 2013, in London as a USP Scientist, leading microbial R&D DoE experiments for Fab production, scaling up from 2 to 200 L. He completed his Ph.D. in Biotechnology at the University of Milan-Bicocca in 2018, focusing on MD-2 production and the development of protein-ligand binding assays for TLR4 modulators, including 6-months secondments at VIB in Ghent and KI in Ljubljana. Lenny has contributed to the scientific community through publications and possessesexpertise in bioprocessing, protein production, and biopharmaceutical development.
