Prior to joining Takeda Maria was with Baxter/Baxalta and Shire. Since July 2018 Maria is Head of the Cell Culture, Virus Models & Serology teams, part of Global Pathogen Safety, which are located in Vienna and Orth, Austria. In her 10+ years career in this field she gained profound expertise in virology and virus safety of medicinal products. She currently oversees the establishment and operation of virus test systems to enable virus reduction studies, virus testing and immune globulin neutralization assays, under GMP/GLP. Maria holds a PhD degree in Molecular Plant Pathology from the University of Nottingham, UK.
