Simon has built his experience through the Upstream process development for different targets (mAbs, complex macro-molecules as well as gene therapy vectors) using different expression systems (CHO/human/insect cells).

Throughout his different roles, Simon has contributed to Upstream process development from discovery phase to scale-up for manufacturing at clinical development phase.

Simon is the Upstream process development lab head for the Biosimilars unit of Fresenius Kabi Biopharma. Amongst his responsibilities, Simon oversees the technological development applied on the Upstream processes. In combination with the scientific expertise, this continuous improvement approach supports the state-of-the-art development of future biosimilar candidates of Fresenius Kabi Biopharma.
