Yu-Tsan (Richard) Liu is a project lead and Sr. scientist in UCB Pharma’s Gene therapy Process Sciences Downstream team. Prior to joining UCB Pharma, he has worked in in WuXi Biologics in China and several biopharma companies in Taiwan leading several NMPA/FDA IND-enabling biologics downstream process development / Tox scale-up projects and late-stage BLA-enabling biologics downstream projects with GSK, MSD, Merck and several Chinese companies. He has more than 10 years of experience in the downstream, QC/QA and analytics. Prior to joining industry, Richard obtained a Master in Anatomy and Cellular Biology from the University of Iowa (U.S.), a Master in Chemistry from National Central University (Taiwan) and a BS in Biochemical Science and Technology from National Taiwan University (Taiwan).
