Scott Kaplanis is the Managing Partner at GroundBreak Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Toronto committed to finding and funding early-stage property and home innovation technology companies. GroundBreak has invested in more than 30 companies in the space and is a recognized thought-leader and ecosystem builder. The firm also works to build partnerships with leading corporate, academic and government organizations to improve our built environment through technology.

Scott is an active venture investor and capital markets professional having spent 20 years evaluating and supporting emerging businesses. He has worked in both origination (Scotiabank, Macquarie Capital Markets) and asset management (Epic Capital Management) and has experience across industries and throughout the business lifecycle. Scott has worked alongside dozens of entrepreneurs and has provided guidance on areas including company and capital formation, C-suite recruitment, resource planning, corporate governance, M&A assessment and exit evaluation.
