Irene Pino studied Biochemistry and Biology at the University of Navarra, Spain, where she was awarded her PhD. She joined the department of Pharmacology at the University of Cambridge as Research Associate. After returning to Spain, she performed postdoctoral research at the Epigenetics department of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). She moved into a biotechnological company and worked in the laboratory and in the Business Development Unit. Irene has worked as Patent Advisor of Biotechnological inventions for more than ten years in several Intellectual Property irms. Since 2021 Irene works as Technology Transfer Manager at the Technology Transfer Ofice and the Innovation department at the CNIO.
