Marion Hitchcock serves as Managing Director of the Gene and Cell Therapies Incubator Berlin, a public-private partnership between Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Bayer Pharmaceuticals. The Incubator is part of the Berlin Center for Gene and Cell Therapies - a pioneering hub that combines a startup incubator and a GMP manufacturing facility under one roof to accelerate the translation of scientific breakthroughs into therapeutic innovations.
With over 25 years of progressive experience, Marion brings deep expertise in R&D strategy, portfolio management, and Open Innovation. At Bayer, she led a major research collaboration with Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. and played a key role in establishing Bayer’s Research & Innovation Center in the Boston/Cambridge ecosystem. Passionate about fostering collaboration, she connects startups, academia, and industry to advance next-generation therapies from concept to clinic and is a frequent speaker at international biotech innovation conferences.
