Ruiz is responsible for the Galapagos decentralized cell therapy manufacturing operations in the EU region. At Galapagos, Ruiz has been part from the early development to clinical implementation of an innovative CAR-T decentralized/point-of-care manufacturing model with 1-week vein-to-vein time. Ruiz has previously worked at Kite, from construction to licensure of Kite's CAR-T commercial manufacturing facility in the Netherlands. Earlier in his career at Novartis, Ruiz worked in commercial manufacturing of vaccines and biologics, tech transfers, process validation and start-up of GMP manufacturing facilities. Ruiz holds a Masters degree in Microbiology.
