Profile

Adrián Parra Garcia is a senior associate at the EU Regulatory, Competition and Trade department of Fieldfisher Belgium.

He focuses his legal practice on regulatory law with special emphasis on chemicals, agrochemicals, and biological alternatives for agriculture. He is the focal point for cases in Spain and has relevant experience in approval and registration procedures of plant protection products, fertilizers, biostimulants, and means of biocontrol, amongst others.

Adrián has advised clients active in a variety of regulated sectors and defended clients' interests before public authorities at both EU and national levels. At the national level, he has participated in numerous administrative and judicial procedures before regulatory authorities and the Courts of Spain. In particular, he has worked on administrative procedures before the Spanish central government and the Autonomous Communities in relation to regulatory authorizations, infringement procedures, administrative appeals, and commenting periods of draft legislation. He has also participated in contentious-administrative procedures before the National Court and the Supreme Court in relation to appeals against national regulations, sanctioning decisions, and decisions from the Council of Ministers.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher, Adrián worked at the legal department of the IT company IBM, where he got involved in legal matters related to the public sector, such as public outsourcing contracts, public tender procedures, and research collaboration agreements with public entities.

He holds an LLM in European Union Law from the University Carlos III of Madrid and studied Private International Law at the American University of Washington D.C. (Washington College of Law). He also studied environmental sciences for three years at the University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid.

Adrián is a fully qualified lawyer and a member of the Madrid and Brussels Bar.

He is a native Spanish speaker, speaks English fluently, and French at an intermediate level.
