Adrián Parra Garcia is qualified lawyer and Senior Associate in the EU Regulatory department at the law firm Bird & Bird LLP.
He specialises in regulatory law, particularly in relation to chemicals, agrochemicals, and biological alternatives for agriculture. He regularly advises and defends clients' interests before public authorities at the EU and national levels in relation to the approval and registration procedures of plant protection products, fertilisers, biostimulants, and means of biocontrol, among others, with a particular focus on cases in Spain.
He has extensive experience in administrative and judicial procedures before the Spanish central government and courts, as well as the regional governments in relation to regulatory authorisations, infringement procedures, administrative appeals, and commenting periods on draft legislation.
In recent years, he has focused on the development and use of new biotechnologies and the transition to more sustainable agriculture and plant protection. He has been actively involved in developing new EU and national legislation in this area and raising awareness among stakeholders about the importance of new technologies for plant health and nutrition.
Adrián has an original university background in environmental sciences, a degree in Law, and a master's degree in European Union law from the Carlos III University of Madrid, where he continues to participate as a guest lecturer on the EU internal market and public health.
Adrián is a fully qualified lawyer and a member of the Madrid and Brussels Bar.
He is a native Spanish speaker, speaks English fluently, and French at an intermediate level.
