Alain is a graduate of the Lausanne Hotel School and later pursued finance and economics at Lausanne University. He began his career in ship management, holding key managerial roles in Switzerland and Germany before leading a Swiss dry bulk shipowning company.

In 2020, Alain shifted his focus to carbon markets, helping technology owners monetize carbon emission reductions and working with shipowners and operators on compliance markets like the EU ETS and new regulations such as FuelEU Maritime.
