I’ve spent over 20 years in the maritime industry, starting as a cadet and working my way up through the ranks on both commercial vessels and cruise ships. In my early 30s, I was in command of cruise ships, leading teams across different cruise lines and gaining firsthand experience in what makes a great crew - and what holds the industry back.
During my time at sea, I saw the challenges that seafarers face daily, from recruitment and retention to leadership and management gaps. The disconnect between ship and shore was obvious, and I knew that things needed to change. That’s why I made the move ashore - not to step away from the industry, but to help improve it from the inside out.
I started Watermark with a clear goal: to change the way things are done. My team and I focus on getting the right people into the right roles and supporting them throughout their careers - not just filling positions, but making sure seafarers have the guidance, leadership, and working conditions they need to thrive.

I believe that the maritime industry can do better for its people. My mission is to help bridge the gap between ship and shore, modernise management practices, and raise industry standards - because when we invest in people, the whole industry moves forward.
