Alexander DöllChief Executive Officer at Methanol InstituteSpeaker
Profile
As Chief Executive Officer of the Methanol Institute (MI), I lead the organization’s global strategy and operations across our offices in Washington D.C., Brussels, Delhi, Beijing, and Singapore. MI represents member companies from across the full methanol value chain, including leading global producers, maritime innovators, renewable energy pioneers, and advanced technology firms. Together, we advocate for methanol as a key solution for the global energy transition and a critical enabler of low-carbon growth.
With a background in both commercial and regulatory affairs, I have built a career at the intersection of industry, innovation, and public policy. Prior to joining MI, I served as Global Group Director for Government Regulatory Affairs at OCI Global, supporting methanol, ammonia and melamine. My work spanned multiple regions, including the United States (federal and state levels), the European Union, the Middle East and North Africa (notably Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Algeria), Japan, and South Korea.
Earlier in my career, I held senior leadership roles at Dow Chemical, working at the intersection of commercial development and regulatory affairs across Africa and the Middle East. My responsibilities spanned Advanced Manufacturing, Coatings Performance Monomers, Industrial Intermediates Infrastructure, and Packaging Specialty Plastics.
Alexander is a Dutch national and lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
