Capt. Sundeep Dhaliwal is an accomplished maritime leader with more than three decades of global experience in ship management, operations, and organizational leadership. Currently Capt. Dhaliwal is serving as General Manager of Wilhelmsen Ship Management Ltd. USA, leading the organization’s U.S. unit.

Prior to his current role, Capt. Dhaliwal spent nearly a decade in Wilhelmsen Ship Management Kuala Lumpur as the General Manager and Head of the LNG LPG and FSRU Group, where he led one of the world’s largest third-party gas carrier management portfolios with over 30 LNG, LPG, LNGBV, and FSRU vessels. Under his direction, the group achieved outstanding safety, quality, and commercial performance. He strengthened the company’s position in the gas segment, expanded into new business verticals, and secured approvals from leading energy majors. His tenure is marked by innovation, including digitalization initiatives and large-scale technical projects. He played a pivotal role in forming a joint venture dedicated to managing VLGCs, successfully overseeing newbuilding deliveries.

Earlier as Fleet Manager for Gas, Oil, and Chemical vessels, Capt. Dhaliwal enhanced technical and operational standards, contributed to business development, and strengthened stakeholder relationships across the value chain.

After transitioning ashore at the beginning of the millennium, he spent the next decade serving as a Vessel Manager, overseeing diverse vessel types and leading dry dockings, newbuilding takeovers, commercial compliance, cargo operations, and technical.

His early career as a seafarer saw him rising rapidly through the ranks to become one of the youngest Masters to command a VLGC within the company.

Capt. Dhaliwal holds a Master Mariner certification and a bachelor’s degree in Nautical Sciences with distinction. He has complemented these with extensive leadership training, including advanced programs in strategic leadership, management development, media handling, and vessel operations.
