Profile
Darrell is President of MTI Network USA and is responsible for coordinating all response efforts throughout North America.
He joined MTI in 2006 after his retirement from a 21 year career with the US Coast Guard as a Public Affairs Chief.
Darrell worked on the US East Coast, Gulf Coast, West Coast and spent 10 years in Alaska where he managed the Coast Guard’s Public Affairs program throughout the vast state.
He has managed media/community relations and Joint Information Centers (JIC) to deal with community concerns during major incidents, both while in the Coast Guard and with MTI to protect clients. He has overseen a wide range of incidents ranging from collisions, spills, MARPOL cases, drug smuggling, Port State Control issues and all other types of major ship incidents within the US and Canada.
Darrell has extensive experience teaching Media Relations, Crisis Communications and JIC operations to Coast Guard personnel and maritime industry partners. His experience and Coast Guard knowledge has enhanced MTI’s ability to provide the best Reputation Management services to our clients around the world.
He has a background in photo-journalism with advanced training in Crisis Communications and Risk Management.
