Dr. Brian Kaul is a Senior Research Staff member with over 15 years of experience at the National Transportation Research Center of the US Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He is currently conducting research on the combustion of alternative fuels in marine engines. He has also contributed to the characterization and control of cyclic combustion instabilities in spark-ignition and dual-fuel engines using AI-based next-cycle controls. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology and is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and SAE International.
