Hello, my name is Elliot Allen, and I am a graduate student in the M.S. in Shipping and Logistics program at SUNY Maritime College. Before entering the maritime field, I spent nearly a decade working across a variety of industries. I began my career as a buyer for Walmart e-commerce, and most recently served as Head of Operations at a software startup. After spending time studying the strategic thinking of Alfred Thayer Mahan, I became increasingly motivated to help grow and modernize the American maritime industry in support of prosperity through international trade. I am now focused on applying both my professional experience and graduate studies to address important challenges in American shipping, with a particular interest in shipping finance and the financing structures that support maritime trade.
