George Cornell is Corporate Compliance Counsel & Claims Executive at Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc., managers of the American Steamship Owners Mutual Protection & Indemnity Association, Inc. (the “American Club”). Prior to joining the American Club in 2023, he practiced as an attorney in the marine practice group of Clyde & Co US LLP’s New York office from 2012. He is the Chair of the Admiralty Committee of the New York City Bar Association, a Maritime Law Association member, and an avid sailor. He is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts and various New York federal courts, and is a graduate of Boston University School of Law and Cornell University.
