Profile
James leads the Business Consultancy team at Lloyd’s Register, and has over fifteen years experience dedicated to maritime consultancy and research. Within LR, he leads a team of consultants working with senior management teams of shipowners, operators, charterers, ports and fuel suppliers, working to position their businesses for future success. His team works with clients to understand the impact of the energy transition on their businesses, from a commercial and financial perspective as well as a technical one.
Prior to LR, James was director of consultancy at Maritime Strategies International(MSI), and also worked as a market analyst at Clarkson Research. He has been invited to speak at a wide range of international conferences on shipping and ports, and also has acted as an expert advisor in legal cases in the shipping space.
James holds an MSc in International Trade, Finance and Development at Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, an MA in History from the University of Oxford and a Diploma in Economics from Birkbeck College, London.
