Third generation shipping entrepreneur James Lightbourn explores the interconnectedness and optimization of transportation systems through his career financing, leasing, buying, owning, operating, and selling transportation assets in various capacities.

Lightbourn began his career working for the container line Mediterranean Shipping Company in New York City before transitioning into shipbroking at Compass Maritime Services. From there, Lightbourn was recruited to join CIT Bank N.A. as Assistant Vice President on the maritime finance desk. Lightbourn then left New York City for Connecticut-based Alterna Capital Partners as Senior Associate.
