Mike Salthouse

Head of External Affairs at NorthStandard

Mike is Head of External affairs at NorthStandard P&I formed following the merger of the North of England and the Standard P&I Clubs in February 2023.

Mike studied law at Manchester University and The College of Law (Guildford) prior to being admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 1992. Before that North Mike served as an officer in the Royal Air Force and worked for the international law firm Norton Rose.

Prior to the merger Mike was head of claims at North P&I and between 2011 and 2022 he was chairman of the International Group Sanctions Committee in which capacity and most recently he led the International Group engagement with OFAC, the UK OFSI and EU DG FISMA in relation to the introduction and implementation of the Russian Oil Price Cap Scheme.
