Paul Pathy is the 47th President of BIMCO and the first President from the Americas. Elected in May 2025, he assumed the role after serving a two‑year term as President Designate. Pathy is also the President and CEO of Fednav, Canada’s largest dry bulk shipping company. A third‑generation leader in the family business, Pathy joined the Fednav Group in 2003 as Vice President and General Manager of Federal Marine Terminals (FMT). He was promoted to Executive Vice President of Fednav Limited in 2007 and became President and Co‑CEO in 2010. He has served as the company’s sole CEO since 2016. Paul Pathy obtained a BA in Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, in 1994. He went on to receive a JD and MBA/MIM from the University of Denver, CO, in 1999 and 2000, and subsequently became a member of the New York State Bar. Married with two children, Paul serves as a Director of Fednav Limited and Director and Treasurer of the Pathy Family Foundation. He is active in the community and philanthropy in his native Montreal. BIMCO is the world's largest direct-membership organization for shipowners, charterers, shipbrokers and agents.
