Peter Evensen has been involved in shipping from many sides of the table, first working 20 years as a global shipping and offshore banker and the next 20 years as part of the senior management team in both public and private shipping companies. From 1983-2003, he worked as Managing Director, Head of Global Shipping at JP Morgan Securities Inc. in New York City including 11 years in positions in London and Oslo. From 2003 until his retirement in 2017 he worked at Teekay Corporation where he was President and CEO at Teekay Corporation from 2011 until his retirement in January 2017. He was also CEO, CFO and Director at both Teekay Offshore Partners and Teekay LNG Partners, and a Member of the Board at Teekay Tankers, all companies where he led the team that took those companies public. The combined Teekay entities managed and operated consolidated assets of over $15 billion, comprised of over 215 liquefied gas, offshore, and conventional tanker assets. From 2017 until 2022, he took on a consulting assignment and served as CEO of General Ore International Corporation, an operator of large dry bulk vessels and LPG carriers. He continues to take on select consulting assignments in shipping and offshore.
