Profile
Stergios Stamopoulos is an experienced professional in the maritime industry focusing on maritime decarbonization, energy efficiency of ships, regulatory compliance, ESG reporting, GHG accounting and human factors.
He joined ABS in 2007 as an engineer, and has worked in Greece, South Korea, and the USA on a variety of different roles and positions.
He is currently the Manager of the Houston Sustainability Center leading ABS activities in the Americas region. The center is assisting ship owners, operators, and other stakeholders with achieving their sustainability goals.
Prior to joining ABS, he worked for another Classification Society as well as a Ship Design firm.
Stergios graduated from the University of Glasgow in the UK with a BEng degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. He also holds an MSc in Marine Engineering and an MPhil in Marine Technology degrees from the University of Newcastle in the UK.
