Profile
Steve Clark serves as Commercial Vice President for Host Agency, one of the most established and respected maritime service providers in the United States. Founded in Norfolk, Virginia in 1923, Host has grown into a diversified maritime enterprise comprised of three core divisions: Ship Agency, Host Terminals, and Host Marine. Together, these divisions deliver comprehensive port, logistics, and marine services nationwide.
Host Agency oversees approximately 6,000 vessel calls annually along the U.S. East, Gulf, and West Coasts. The company supports a broad range of vessel types and cargoes, providing end-to-end agency services that ensure seamless port calls, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Complementing its agency footprint, Host’s Terminals and Marine divisions operate five strategically located facilities along the Mississippi River, handling approximately 25 million tons of dry bulk cargo each year. The terminals provide stevedoring, cargo handling, storage, and logistics coordination, serving as critical links in the global supply chain for both import and export markets. Host Marine further enhances these operations through specialized marine services that support safe, efficient vessel movements and cargo transfers.
As Commercial Vice President, Steve leads the company’s marketing and business development initiatives across all service lines. He is responsible for identifying and pursuing new market opportunities, strengthening Host’s customer base, and cultivating long-term relationships within port communities nationwide. His role requires a strong understanding of trade flows, commodity markets, and port operations, as well as the ability to align Host’s capabilities with the evolving needs of shipowners, charterers, operators, and cargo interests. He works closely with operational leadership to ensure commercial strategy translates into service excellence on the waterfront.
Steve joined Host in 2017, bringing extensive agency and commercial experience from GAC Shipping USA, where he served for six years in operational and commercial leadership roles. As Operations Manager, he oversaw agency activities in Philadelphia and Baltimore, handling dry bulk, breakbulk, crude oil, LPG, and LNG carriers. His responsibilities
