Dr Vincent Power, partner, specialises in advising, advocating and litigating on EU law, EU and Irish competition/antitrust law, merger control, regulatory/administrative law, transport law and EU commercial issues for public and private clients nationally and internationally.

Head of the firm's EU, Competition & Procurement Group which won the “Competition Team of the Year” at the European Lawyer Awards in London in November 2022. Regularly recognised as the most experienced EU/competition lawyer practising in Ireland.

Vincent won the ILO Client Choice Award for the category of "EU Competition and Antitrust" across the EU and he has won the same award for Ireland three times – these awards are made by The International Law Office in recognition of a partner who excels across the full spectrum of client service. He has been listed in the first rank of the directories in his fields of expertise including being a thought leader in competition, State aid and transport law.

Vincent has advised on most of the leading competition, merger control, EU law, cartel, abuse of dominance, State aid, joint venture, pricing, refusal to supply, competition investigations, dawn raids, Competition Authority / CCPC and competition litigation cases in Ireland over the last 30 years including recent multi-billion euro M&A deals. He has been involved in several hundred merger filings in Ireland and the EU and has experience and expertise in all the issues involved. He is the current Chairman of the European Maritime Law Organisation and a Titular Member of the Comité Maritime International.

He has led some of the most complex and involved commercial deals and competition investigations securing competition clearances at both EU and Irish levels. For example, Vincent has been involved in 8 of the last 21 Phase 2 mergers in Ireland.

Vincent has been listed in the first rank of the directories in his fields of expertise including being a thought leader in Competition, State aid and Transport Law. He has been recognised in the Lexology Index: Thought Leaders Transport 2026 report and i2024, he was “selected as one of the world's leading practitioners in the Who's Who Legal: Competition 2024 report".
