Adrian is a partner in Pinsent Masons’ Construction Advisory & Disputes team and has more than 30 years’ experience in both the energy and construction sectors, with a particular focus on multi-jurisdictional project risk advice, dispute resolution and international arbitration. His main area of practice involves technically complex disputes arising in relation to the provision of energy and oil and gas infrastructure, often involving states or state entities. His experience includes projects relating to power generation, including nuclear, offshore wind, CCGT, coal fired and waste to energy, and oil and gas projects involving offshore and onshore and oil and gas installations, including FPSOs, FLNG, and onshore facilities including GPP, LNG and GTL projects.

He has a masters degree in Construction Law and Arbitration from Kings College, London and has extensive experience of advising in relation to contractual and commercial issues by way of ongoing project risk advice during the currency of the project, with a view to avoidance of formal dispute resolution processes. He has experience of various forms of dispute resolution including Dispute Review / Adjudication Boards, mediation and other forms of ADR and technically complex scheduling, quantum and engineering issues. He has first-hand experience of many of the rules of the major arbitral institutions. His work often involves liaising closely with local lawyers and the enforcement of arbitration awards in local Courts, including extensive experience of issues of State Immunity in the context of such enforcement proceedings. More recently, he has extensive experience of sanctions related termination disputes involving major energy infrastructure projects.
