Profile
David is a Technical Specialist who has been involved in Construction and Engineering Management for 30 years. He is known for providing independent and professional Expert Advice in relation to project disputes, mainly in the civil engineering and construction industries. His primary areas of expertise are Delay and Project Management.
David is an Engineer by background (at both undergraduate and Doctoral level) who enhanced his technical and research skills with experience in Project Management, Risk, and Value analysis. His extensive experience allows clarity in the forensic dispute resolution field. He has excellent dispute avoidance and negotiation skills and regularly acts as an Independent Expert (when disputes proceed to a more formal forum).
David has keen research skills, and is a clear thinker with in depth analysis capabilities. He has excellent written and presentational abilities, which are appreciated by employers, contractors, solicitors and barristers. Historically he has been involved in Construction and Technical Project Management, proactive and reactive Planning / Programming, Value and Risk Management, Partnering and PFI Advice, and PFI Project Management. However, nowadays he mainly works in the (Alternative) Dispute Resolution field, where he has worked on UK and International disputes varying in size from small house extensions (worth a few hundred thousand pounds) to large scale international projects (where the dispute alone may be in the 10s of millions of pounds).
David is regularly appointed as “Named Expert” in Delay and Disruption, and Programming / Planning matters. He has given oral and written evidence in all spheres and at all levels of dispute resolution, from Negotiation and Mediation, through Adjudication and Conciliation, up to Arbitration and Litigation.
David is the Executive and Founding Director at The ADR Experts Ltd.
