Profile
David is a specialist providing independent and professional expertise in relation to project disputes, mainly in the civil engineering and construction industries. His areas of expertise are primarily Delay (EOT) and Project Management.
David is an Engineer by background (at both undergraduate and Doctoral level). He enhanced his technical and research skills with experience in project management, risk and value analysis. His experience gives clarity of thought in the forensic dispute resolution field. He has excellent dispute avoidance and negotiation skills and regularly acts as an Independent Expert (when disputes proceed to a more formal forum).
Following his doctorate, David worked as Project Manager, leading on to higher roles involving Risk, Value and Planning Management advice. His research skills, clear thinking and analysis, and excellent presentational abilities, quickly led to him assisting, and then being appointed directly, as a dispute resolution specialist (by employers, contractors, solicitors and barristers). Historically he has been involved in Construction and Technical Project Management, proactive and reactive Planning / Programming, Value and Risk Management, Partnering and PFI Advice, and PFI Project Management. In the dispute resolution field he has worked on UK and International projects varying in size from a few hundreds-of-thousands to hundreds-of-millions of pounds.
David has been appointed Expert in Delay and Disruption, Programming / Planning, Project Management matters over numerous disputes. He has given oral and written evidence in all spheres and at all levels of dispute resolution, including Negotiation, Mediation, Adjudication, Arbitration, and Litigation. David is the Director of Planning within DGA (UK) Ltd.
