Kara directs government affairs at Soleno Therapeutics. An expert strategist, advocate, and public policy professional, she is dedicated to advancing healthcare access and equity. Kara has built policy shops for leading patient advocacy organizations, including the ALS Association, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Centering Healthcare Institute. While Vice President of State Policy at the ALS Association, she served as a Consumer Representative with the NAIC.

Ms. Hinkley holds a Certificate in Healthcare Economics from Harvard Business School Online, a Master in Public Policy from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Louisville. She is a proud veteran and enjoys biking and hiking with her daughters in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
