Profile

David has more than 32 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. He began his professional cooking career with an externship at The Greenbrier, five star – five diamond resort in White Sulfur Springs WV, while earning his Bachelors of Business in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.


He joined Marriott International, Inc. in 1998 as a Food Production Manager at the Washingtonian Marriot Gaithersburg, MD. He has remained in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia markets throughout his career, holding various titles including five executive chef positions across the DMV, most recently in the kitchen as the Executive Resort Chef/Director of F&B at the Gaylord National Harbor Hotel & Convention Center.

After taking off his chef’s jacket, David became the Director of Food & Beverage at the JW Marriott on 14th and Pennsylvania Ave in Washington, DCC. Coming out of the pandemic, David was able to continue his growth, combining disciplines to oversee both F&B and all Rooms Operations as the Director of Operations/Hotel Manager, by providing strategic leadership and direction paired with personalized guest experience focus and mindful moments. Currently, David works at Marriot Headquarters as the Senior Director of Restaurants and Bars, supporting Restaurants + Bars, Beverage Programming, Culinary and M+E in US/Canada.

David’s passion for food began at home, when his Sicilian grandmother taught him how to make meatballs and pasta at the age of six. Since then, all things Italian cuisine have remained a huge influence in his cooking. He also has a passion for all types of BBQ, Thai and Indian cuisine, cooking all things pork and creating dishes using sustainable, mindfully sourced local ingredients.

David’s free time is spent traveling and exploring new cities and countries through food and cultures, cheering on the Laker’s and the Orioles, arguing with his 8 year old daughter about when she can get a dog, and sampling as many bourbons as he can get his hands on.
