Ilya Cherapau is the Manager for Bermuda Sailors Home (BSH). Ilya is a successful and highly motivated executive with previous experience in operating and managing a broad range of businesses.

Ilya assumed leadership of the BSH in 2018 when the organization was searching for a new identity. During his time as manager, Ilya reestablished connections with the international seafarers community, local maritime institutions and secured funding to support BSH principal projects.

Ilya has been instrumental towards the management and growth of the BSH member’s club. Of additional significance, he spearheaded the opening of a satellite seafarers center adjacent to the cruise terminal catering for thousands of seafarers during the 2019 tourism season. While the pandemic caused the center to close its doors in 2020, Ilya looks forward to the reopening of borders and maritime activity as Bermuda becomes one of the first ports to restart cruise voyages in the North Western Atlantic.
